Human Rights Dallas Announces Celebration of the 78th Anniversary of Universal Human Rights Day at Dallas City Hall

Human Rights Dallas is honored to announce a celebration of the 78th anniversary of Universal Human Rights Day on December 10, 2026, hosted in partnership with the City of Dallas at Dallas City Hall. This annual observance commemorates the signing of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 1948 — a global commitment to dignity, equality, and justice for all people.

This year’s program will highlight Dallas’s ongoing human‑rights challenges and the collective work required to build a more just and compassionate city. The ceremony will feature speakers, performances, and presentations from leaders across local government, civil society, and the private sector.

A centerpiece of the celebration will be the presentation of the Dignity Award and Solidarity Award, two honors created by Human Rights Dallas to recognize an organization and an individual who exemplify the highest values of human rights in our community. These awards celebrate those who stand with marginalized neighbors, expand access to justice, and strengthen the bonds of shared humanity across Dallas.

Since 2024, Human Rights Dallas has produced nearly 30 public programs advancing a culture of human rights through education, the arts, and cross‑sector collaboration. We invite all Dallas residents and partners to celebrate and honor December 10 as a historic day and to reaffirm that human rights belong to everyone, everywhere, at all times.
